Refund Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

If you pay and don't get what you paid for, you get your money back. Here's exactly how that works.

1. When you get a full refund

You get a full refund — the whole amount charged, including SewaPay's fees — when:

  • your card was charged but the top-up or bill payment couldn't be delivered;
  • you were charged more than once for the same payment; or
  • you were charged a different amount from the one shown at checkout.

You don't need to ask for these — we refund them as soon as we confirm the problem.

2. When a refund isn't possible

Once a top-up or bill payment has been delivered, the provider has applied it, and it can't be taken back. So we can't refund:

  • payments that were delivered successfully;
  • payments delivered to a wrong phone number or account that you entered — we'll gladly ask the provider to help, but we can't guarantee they'll reverse it;
  • a payment you no longer want after it was delivered.

Problems with the service itself after delivery — for example a utility's bill calculation or a network outage — are handled by that provider.

3. If your payment is still pending

Now and then a provider is slow to confirm a delivery. We keep checking with them automatically, and you'll never be charged twice for the same payment. Most cases resolve within minutes. If it turns out the payment wasn't delivered, you'll be refunded in full.

4. How refunds are paid

  • Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with, in US dollars, for the amount you were charged.
  • We email you when a refund is issued.
  • Your bank usually shows it within 5–10 business days, depending on the bank.
  • If your bank charged its own currency-conversion fees, or exchange rates have changed, the amount in your local currency may differ slightly. That part is set by your bank.

5. How to ask about a refund

Email support@sewapay.com within 30 days of your payment, with your payment reference (it starts with "SP-" and is on your receipt). We'll look into it and reply as soon as we can — usually within 1–2 business days. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually sort it out faster.
